- Handmade stone jewelry, often with silver, sometimes southwestern in style
- Jewelry made with care to last
Hi, I’m Jane Brown. I design and make the jewelry for my shop, Sand Canyon Jewelry. My shop is influenced by the time I spent living in New Mexico. I love the southwest–the wonderful colors, the high desert, the mountains, turquoise and silver, pueblos, pottery, handwoven rugs, the diversity of the people, and the history. I’m also inspired by the state where I currently live, Colorado. It’s difficult for me to imagine living someplace where I couldn’t be near the Rocky Mountains.
After I retired from my left-brained, accounting/computer career, I decided to explore my right-brained, creative side. I began making jewelry, and I discovered I really enjoyed it. I had always thought I didn’t have a creative bone in my body. Who knew that I would have a jewelry shop on Etsy!
I don’t have a studio–or even a room–where all of the work for the shop takes place. The shop has pretty much taken over my apartment. Different functions are tucked into whatever space is available. I do beading in one room, metalwork in another room, and photography, shipping, and accounting in other spaces.
I love having a shop on Etsy. I’ve been fortunate enough to have wonderful customers, and I’ve met some fascinating people–both buyers and sellers–along the way.
Thanks so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. I hope you enjoy looking around my shop!
